A useful glossary that defines many common terms used by origami artists to communicate about their works.

I have mentioned this website previously, but I list it here again for its wealth of articles on the subject of origami. It is worth fully exploring and reading.

This is a simple and spectacularly useful application. Input any coordinates within a square paper and - viola! - instantly receive detailed diagrams on how to find the point by folding alone. Although I prefer the online version I have linked, it is also available for download through Robert Lang's site here.

Orihime is a powerful tool for developing, editing, and refining crease patterns. I perform nearly all of my design work in this software, which checks your pattern for flat-foldability, self-intersection, and can predict the final folded shape of your model.
|
Oripa is a useful piece of software developed specifically for drawing crease patterns. Recommended on Robert Lang's website, it is a convenient and capable tool for digitizing hand-drawn work and checking flat foldability.

A brilliant application for creating box-pleated origami designs, BP Studio can automatically generate different types of stretches between overlapping flaps. In addition to being online, it can be installed as a standalone application from here.

An extremely impressive and endlessly fascinating web app where you can upload any crease pattern, it will simulate the folding process in 3D space to any desired degree.
|
Another very useful crease pattern editor that has all seven origami axioms built in. The only potential disadvantage is that it is solely compatible with apple devices.
|
Have I mentioned Robert Lang's website yet? This page contains an excellent, and much more exhaustive, list of origami relevant software.

The granddaddy of origami stores, Nicholas Terry's Origami-Shop sells a wide array of papers and accessories, also publishing books from rising artists. You can find every origami book I have and haven't heard of, Origamido paper (sold nowhere else), and a host of other things. Also visit their U.S. store.

Although not exclusively an origami store, Hiromi paper offers a wide variety of beautiful handmade papers. Selling high quality materials such as Lokta, Gampi, Unryu, Kozo and others, this site is a valuable resource. They have great customer service and all of my orders have arrived quickly and in good condition.

A newcomer to the paper world, LoopChi is a specialty product made by origami artist Fearless Flourish. Due to intermittent availability, I have not personally been able to fold with this medium, but I have heard many outstanding reviews. Fearless posts updates on his Instagram when he is preparing to sell more paper.
|
Luca Iaconi-Stewart has been working on building a scale model of a Boeing 777 aircraft for the last few years out of manila folders and it is astonishingly detailed. Although more papercraft than origami, it is cool enough to be worth featuring.

Weebly is the website builder I have used to create this site. I do not have extensive experience with different website builders, but Weebly is the best I have explored so far. It is free, has unlimited space for photos and media, does not limit the pages on your website, contains an intuitive and useful editor, has a great support community, does not push obtrusive advertisements, and has many useful themes to pick from and customize.
