Foldigami Studio

Original Origami by Aiden Stephan

Easy Origami

One day while talking with some newfound friends at a campground during a family vacation, I started discussing computer related topics and eventually ended up giving them the link to my website.  One of their first responses was, "wow, cool! I've done some origami before, so when I check out your website I will fold some of the models and send you pictures!"  Although it was a kind thought, little did they know that almost all of the origami on my site consisted of complex models which often result in 5 or 8 hours spent folding even if you do have the ability to read and collapse crease patterns, have specialized paper and can complete shaping folds independently.
Realizing that this greatly reduced the user-friendliness of my site for individuals new to origami, I created this page.  Many other resources can be found online by Googling "easy origami," "free origami diagrams," etc.

OrigamiFun.com

This website contains many free diagrams and is a good resource for any beginner.  Most of the models are explained both through diagrams and a video tutorial.  Models include classic designs such as the Japanese crane and flapping bird, along with the more modern Kawasaki's rose and various hats and boxes.

Diagrams

I have recently been working on creating diagrams for a few of my models in Inkscape.  Although most of my diagrams will still be presenting instructions for models of moderate complexity, diagrams greatly simplify the folding process compared to a crease pattern and should make the concept of folding more involved models seem a bit less daunting. I have not currently finished any full folding sequences, but I will upload diagrams as soon as I complete them.
